Wedding Party

Alana Rubins | Bridesmaid

I have been fortunate to have Alana in my life since 1987 when we met at camp. Our friendship grew during 1988 and was sealed after the summer of 1989 at Hilltop. Alana and I lived together in Santa Barbara while in college. Those were tumultuous times for each of us but we helped each other through our struggles and I knew especially after that, we would be part of each other's lives forever.

Barbara Cobin | Bridesmaid

Barb is one of the most solid people I know. She and I met a camp in 1991. In 1993 she moved out to LA from Oklahoma and became my roommate in Playa del Rey. We were roommates until she moved out just before she and Todd got married. I was so honored when they asked me to sign their ketubah. I will never forget Barb's wedding day and I am sure that with her at mine it will be an even more unforgettable event for me. I am truly blessed to have a friend like Barbara in my life. By the way, the very adorable little boy in the picture with her is her son, Drew.

Debb Bresnick | Bridesmaid

Debb and I met at camp in 1991. We were roommates in Westwood a few years later. Have you ever heard of a "backstage pass?" It is when you feel comfortable enough with a person to show her a side of yourself that you are afraid to have seen. It is when you trust a person enough to know that she will not judge you for your faults and instead will love you and support you even though your room is a total mess. It is when a person can influence your life with her simple yet profound wisdom. Debb has and always will have a "backstage pass" in my life.

Liz Sills | Bridesmaid

Liz and I met when she and my brother, Jonathan, were "just friends." I liked her immediately. I was so happy when they finally decided to admit what anyone who saw them together already knew--they were meant for each other. I was so happy on their wedding day since I knew my brother found the love of his life and selfishly, that meant that I got a wonderful new sister. I feel so fortunate to have Liz in my life.

Robin and Bob Sills | Mother and Father of the Bride

Thank you Mom and Dad for everything you have done for me throughout my life. You have had a major role in making me the woman I am today. Thank you for your support and guidance. I love you both very much and feel proud and lucky to have you as my parents.

Sharon Weiner | Bridesmaid

Sharon is like a little sister to me. We met at camp (yes, I admit it, she was a camper--I'm old) but we didn't become close until much later. I was fortunate to be able to really see Sharon grow over the years from camper to counselor, to administrator at camp, but it wasn't until after Sharon's "last summer" that she and I grew even closer as friends. Something happened. Sharon became the strong, self assured, confident woman that I am proud to call my friend today. I am so lucky to have her in my life and so lucky to have her as a part of my wedding.

Allen Nudel | Groomsman

Allen, being the older brother was always the one I tried to emulate. From my earliest memories I always wanted to follow in his foot steps. He always set the bar high, which meant I had to work that much harder to compete. Allen is now the proud father of my two gorgeous nieces, Avery and Elise, whom I love so much. I am privileged to have a brother that is such an excellent role model. I look forward to spending much more time with the Nudel's of Berkeley in the years to come.

Ari "Dipperstein" Marshall | Groomsman

Ari and I have known each other for about 30 years now. I can always count on Ari to tell it like it is, even if it's not necessarily what I want to hear. Ari and I have been through a lot together, from him tickling me in kindergarten (or so he says) to co-writing a children's book in high school to traveling to Disneyworld in Florida to having him and Krissy fall asleep in my back seat while I'm giving them a driving tour of San Francisco. Through it all, Ari's is a very loyal friend and now that he's a doctor, he should be good for some discounts on drugs in the coming years. I'm very privileged to have Ari as a part of my life.

David Rolbin | Groomsman

David and I first met about 30 years ago when we were in the same Indian Guides tribe, however it wasn't until Ari's 21st Birthday in 1993 that David and I were re-united. I was amazed when he approached me and said "you look familiar...you live on Lindley, don't you?" I was like "yes, but who the heck are you?" To make a long story short, he remembered me from when we were about 6 years old. I still have no idea how. Anyway, David is a good friend and always knows how to keep things interesting. Some of our adventures include Palm Springs, Vegas, and of course visiting him in San Luis Obispo. I feel privileged to have rekindled my friendship with David after so many years.

Eric Nudel | Groomsman

Eric has always been the little brother. It is hard to believe how quickly he has grown up. It seems like just yesterday when my parents brought home this new blonde haired baby, which I'm sure at the time I thought was my new toy. Eric and I have shared a lot together over the years. Eric is one of the most compassionate people I know and perhaps that's what makes him such an excellent nurse. I am privileged to have him a part of my life and I look forward to growing our relationship in the coming years.

Jaime Roberto | Groomsman

Even though Jaime and I both attended Reseda High School, we didn't really become friend's until after I returned home from college. I can still remember vividly when we were at a friend's birthday party about 11 years ago and we began talking about how much we both loved Vegas. Since that day, I've been to Vegas more with Jaime than anyone else. In addition to being my Vegas buddy, Jaime and I shared Laker season tickets for the past 6 or so years. Jaime and I shared many adventures together over the past several years I hope that we will continue to do so for many years to come.

Jonathan Sills | Groomsman

My earliest memory is going with my Nana to buy a baby gift. We bought a blue rattle shaped like a diaper pin. That was the day I met (and held) my new brother, Jonathan. I was 27 months old and I don't remember my life without him in it. I have been fortunate, not all siblings can call each other "friend" but that is how I think of my brother. He and Liz were the first two people to whom I introduced Dan. Jonathan and I went to college together for a couple of years in San Luis Obispo and one day one of the RA's in the dorms where we lived told me that she met this guy, who she thought I would hit it off with. Really smart, great sense of humor, nice looking... In fact he kind of reminded her of me. She wanted to set us up because she really thought we would hit it off. I was interested so I asked, "what's his name?" She said she didn't know his last name but his first name was, "Jonathan." I just started laughing. Can you imagine THAT blind date???

Linda and Lenny Nudel | Mother and Father of the Groom

My parents mean the world to me. They are the most supportive, loving, and caring people I know. When I first told them I was thinking about asking Becca to marry me, they both began crying (out of happiness of course). I knew at that moment, that not only did I think she is "the one", but that they did too. I could not be more happy with the way my parents and Becca have bonded and I know that our family will grow even stronger with the addition of Becca. I know there are great times to come for the Nudel Family.

Matt Van Winkle | Groomsman

I have always felt close to Matt and I can't help but think it's more than just our closeness in age. Matt is much more than just a cousin, he's a great friend. Matt and I lived together in our Marina del Rey apartment and even though I probably see him more now than I did when we lived together, I got to know him on a different level. We would go to bars together, shoot pool, and sometimes go to the jacuzzi after a hard day at work. When Becca and I had been going out for about 6 months, I remember Matt telling me he knows a great jeweler. Perhaps he knew something even I didn't know at the time. I'm very thankful that through the years, our friendship has grown even stronger and I look forward to the years to come.

Pablo Huerta | Groomsman

Pablo has been my longest continuous friend. Pablo and I first met back in 4th grade. From the first time I met him, I just felt that he was a very kind, genuine person who I would have a very special friendship with. Through the years, Pablo and I have stayed friends through many moves and many phases of our lives. Some of my fondest memories with Pablo include, playing handball in 4th grade, finding stray dogs on the street and taking them home with us, feeding tortillas to his childhood dog, Chato--hoping my hand wouldn't get bitten off, going to the drive in theater the day he got his driver's license (4 days before me), jogging at Balboa Park and falling in the river, visiting him many weekends during college in San Luis Obispo, teaching him blackjack in Tahoe for his 30th birthday, taking a walking tour of Chicago and the list goes on. Everyone in life should have a friend like Pablo and I'm so happy we've been able to stay friends for so long and I know we will be friends forever.

Steve Schultz | Groomsman

My cousin Steve and I have shared many adventures over the years. From our day's working at Pioneer Chicken together when I was 15 to having a double date with sisters and Steve running out to the street because he thought his car was being towed to drinking 40 oz Old English 800s in my dorm room at UCSB to walking the dark trail along the UCSB lagoon at 1:00 a.m. so that we can have mac and cheese at his Isla Vista apartment to listening to Standard Fruit play the same songs we've heard dozens of times at the Coconut Teaser. There is never a dull moment with Steve around and I feel honored to have a cousin I can share so many great memories with. I'm confident and hopeful that the list will continue grow.
